Kat Kehres Knecht- SHORT BIO

I believe that a soul mate kind of romance is something attainable, an experience that is open to those willing to work for it. I also believe that a soul mate relationship is something worth having.

For many years now I have broadcast my message about soul mate romance over the airwaves, in print, and in interactive presentations all over the country because of my passion, and because of my belief that a heart-based world sensibility that is created by this kind of relationship is ground-breaking and radically powerful.

Along with my incredible husband Curtis, therapist and relationship coach, we co-founded The Relationship Coaching Company in 2003, which spawned the Relationship Coaching Connection.  I wrote my first book for newly-engaged and newlywed couples, It’s Not Just Your Wedding, It’s Your Life, which explores starting married life with a good foundation, ensuring the presence of trust, love and excitement forever: at the wedding and for the duration of the marriage.

I am the creator of the Staying Engaged Cards, a relationship card game that sparks conversations and helps people make deeper connections – the heart of a soul mate romantic relationship – in a way that is both fun and informative. Knowing what is in a person’s heart and what they yearn for on a soul level is… romantic!

My coaching credentials include being ICF Certified as a Life and Relationship Coach. I earned my certification from the Coaches Training Institute, where I am on the faculty as a leader of their certification program.  I am also certified in several business and relationship coaching programs. As part of my life-long interest in health and well-being, I studied at the Traditional Acupuncture Institute and in Imago couples therapy. My past work includes a key position for the U.S. Postal Service’s Quality of Work-Life Program.

I have learned a great deal in my professional life and through my training as a life and relationship coach. However, my greatest learning and the most useful relationship tools I have created have come from my own personal passion for relationships and my life experience.  My greatest learning came when my first marriage ended many years ago, I examined what had caused it to fail and where I personally had made mistakes.

I saw that among other things, I had sold out on my true desires and lost myself somewhere along the way.Since that understanding of myself, both personally and professionally, I have made it my mission to uncover and put into practice exactly what it takes to be fulfilled as a woman in a good romantic relationship.

I can honestly say, I have accomplished this beyond what even I thought was possible.  I am now ecstatically happy married to my own soul mate, and am dedicated to helping others create their very own happily ever after, real life true love stories unique as each couple themselves.

In my spare time I love to play in dreamland, goof off, create works of living art, write up a storm, engage in great conversations with family and friends and sit on the beach listening to the ocean. Curtis and I live in Ventura, CA just a stone’s throw from the beach. We have a blended family of four amazing grown children.
